Assistant Property Manager - Tax Credit

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Property Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone looking for long-term stability and growth within an organization committed to excellence in affordable housing management. Tax credit experience required.

As the Assistant Property Manager, you will support the overall operations of the community, with a strong focus on compliance, resident relations, and operational efficiency. Your role will be essential in maintaining the integrity of the community and ensuring adherence to Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily property operations and ensure a high standard of resident satisfaction

  • Accurately prepare, review, and audit all LIHTC compliance documentation and resident files

  • Oversee leasing activities, including touring prospective residents and assisting Leasing Consultants

  • Process rent payments, issue resident notices, and manage account ledgers

  • Assist with property marketing, including posting and managing online listings

  • Coordinate and inspect maintenance activities to ensure prompt service and upkeep

  • Prepare lease paperwork in accordance with federal and state regulations

  • Support the Community Manager with daily management responsibilities and special projects, as well as support the leasing team and assist with tours, paperwork, etc. as needed.

  • Ensure property is compliant with Fair Housing laws and company policies

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of on-site property management experience, preferably in an affordable housing setting

  • Proven experience with LIHTC compliance and file auditing

  • Fair Housing Certification required

  • Strong knowledge of RealPage, Yardi, or similar property management software

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills

  • Bilingual skills are a plus - English & Spanish preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and adapt quickly
